Dirty, as usual

Commenter 2:44 p.m. on The Jacobs-Rumler post below reports getting an automated call today from PersonalPac, the group running the Swiftboat-syle anti-Rumler campaign.

The Dope has the text of the call.

PersonalPac people, which reported the $27,000 cost of the calls as a contribution to the Mike Jacobs campaign, have known well more than a week that they're misreprsenting Paul Rumler's position on choice. (Pro-choice Personal PAC takes responsibility for Rumler rumors)

But they keep right on a lyin'...

Politics as usual.

I wonder if the average voter knows about these dirty tactics. Almost everything that he does on the blogs is negative, and then the phone call thing which is almost unbelievable. I wonder if the donors realize that PersonalPac/Jacobs spent that much money on the phone campaign. They spent nearly 7 times what Rumler had, just to smear someone that shares the same view as them. Really an odd situation. I think there would certainly be many more prudent ways to spend 27,000 dollars.

JCB, did you see that the "taking a crack at it" blog had a post about Jacobs' mailers? It sounds like the members of the "democratic team" weren't too happy about their pictures being used without their permission.

More money on Jacobs financials from Personal Pac. Apparently Mike gave the go-ahead for another round of smearing phone calls.
