Evans warchest grows

U. S. Rep. Lane Evans' year-end report is now on file with the Federal Election Commission.

He moves into the election year with $224,000 on hand, up $46,000 from the end of the third quarter. He took in $130,000 in the quarter and spent $84,800, including $45,000 paid the election commission in settlement of a civil suit over campaign contributions.

The congressman has about 10 times as much on hand as the three Republican candidates combined. He'll be able to sit on it through the primary season while the GOPers slug it out.

Why, he even has more money than Mike Jacobs!

Considering the gerrymandered district Evans "represents", I have no doubt that if Lane Evans was in a coma, and the Politburo decided to run him, he would win---in a landslide.

Lane in a coma would be brighter than the TV news readers the Republicans keep runninng.

It's not all about money. The GOP hasn't run anyone against Evans worth talking about yet. Zinga's campaign was laughable. She was going to go to D.C. and straighten it all out, yeah.

Interesting - Evans raised $1,260.00 from inside the District, while Mowen raised $18,820 from inside the District. Makes one wonder who mr. Evans really represents...
