Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack has signed a bill raising the speed limit on rural interstates to 70.
Guess that means that people driving the speed limit will be running only 5-10 mph behind everyone, instead of 10-15.

Ya know, with the speed limit being 70 now, how much faster are semis going to drive? I see quite a few cruising about 65mph...so, are they gonna do 80 now? Scary.

I think raising the speed limit is a fantastic idea! Now I can get to the gambling boats faster! I can burn up gasoline quicker keeping the oilionaires happy. To heck with encouraging drivers to conserve energy and reduce speed, I want to win some money, or at least by the time I eat 10 pounds of "free" food at the casino (I'm only modestly overweight so it's o.k.) I'll at least "break even."
